Most “custom blankets” are screen print or vinyl, a film sitting on the surface that cracks and peels. We dye-sublimate: under heat the color turns to gas and bonds inside the fiber, edge to edge. The print becomes the fabric, so there is nothing to lift, crack, or wash away.

Dye-sublimation vs. surface prints

Most “custom blankets” are surface prints: screen-printed ink or a heat-pressed vinyl film sitting on the fabric. That layer is what cracks along fold lines, peels at the edges, and fades in the wash.

We dye-sublimate instead. Under heat and pressure the dye turns to gas and bonds inside the plush fiber, so the color is part of the fabric and there is no layer to fail. Move the loupe and look for it. You won't find one.

NubaySoft plush: built to hold a print

Sublimation is only as good as the fiber it bonds into. Coarse fleece swallows detail; cheap polyester goes shiny under the press. NubaySoft plush uses a fine, evenly dyeing fiber that takes color without blotching, holds photographic detail and smooth gradients, and stays genuinely plush after pressing.

It is the fabric behind every tier we print, developed within the Spectator Sport USA partnership, whose flagship line is custom blankets made at the Murray, Utah factory.

Every tier is full-bleed dye-sublimation on plush NubaySoft fabric. Upper tiers add weight, scrim, and double-sided printing. Nubay Rapid Print runs fast with no minimum; larger orders get a proof first, with production roughly six to eight weeks out. One size, 60 x 80 in.

Double-sided printing is an upper-tier feature. Ultra Plus, D-Luxe, and D-Luxe Plus print full-bleed on both faces, so the blanket reads as one finished object whether it is draped or folded.

The Swanky Blankey is the exception worth naming precisely: it pairs a full-bleed printed front with a plush faux-fur back, not a second printed face. Double-sided print and a faux-fur reverse are two different upper-tier options.
